The Healing by Robbins
The Classic Misch ("Mixed") Technique of Egg Tempera & Oil Painting is not a widely used technique, nor is it one that is taught at today's institutions or ateliers. The secrets to this method have been shared within a Family of fantastic realism painters over the past 40 years or so, mainly due to Ernst Fuchs and his students. Of these present day practitioners, this may be the only seminar currently available for those who want to learn this very effective way of painting with Light, creating fine detail, extraordinary luminosity, and brilliant pure colors. For more information about the Mische Technique, you may read Cynthia's notes and descriptions on art4spirit.com.
Note: This will be the first seminar Prof. Phil has held in the USA in 13 years.
Don't miss this opportunity!
Cynthia will be teaching under-painting the first week. Paintings will be executed on panels, using an egg emulsion ground. This is followed by a two week master class with Prof.Phil and Cynthia.
For a Class Outline, please email either Cynthia or Phil.
We have chosen Eureka Springs, Arkansas, for the location, due to its central location in the USA, its unique character , it's outatanding support for the Arts, and its natural beauty. You might not have heard of this area yet. Indeed, it is "a best kept secret" kind of a town. The densely wooded hills, winding roads, many lakes and rivers all make for a pristine setting. In the midst of the Ozark Highlands sits this Victorian village so charming you will think you have stepped back in time and into a fairy tale. There are no traffic lights, people don't have to lock their doors, and the neighbors know one another. Even though it is small, there is a very high quality and variety of restaurants, shopping, accommodations, art and music. This is a great chance to see an exceptional place before it gets invaded by the Corporations. We hope that never happens!
As a bonus, the Seminar is taking place during the May Festival of the Arts celebration. Because of this, there will be many exhibitions and special events which include visual arts as well as music, dance, and performance. You will experience the very best of Eureka!
This is a really unusual opportunity to live The Artists Dream. I call it Art Immersion, because one can concentrate on the Art, the Painting, at LAST! There are no distractions or interruptions to divert one's attention. No meals to cook, phones to answer, chores to do. One is in the company of other like-minded artists, and we get to obsess to our heart's content. The studio is accessible 24/7. There will be an exhibition of the art by Cynthia, Prof. Phil, and the Seminar artists, too! Publicity, postcards, and a vernisage will be provided.

The Studio Space is large and airy. There is also an outdoor deck.

The Piedmont Inn
For our seminar we have created a package deal at this terrific
Bed & Breakfast. The rooms are all different, decorated with
a personal touch. Antiques and warmth are Key. All rooms have
an entry to the inside of the Inn as well as to the wrap around
porches. There is a lovely view of the hills from the back porch,
and the front door leads out to Spring Street, lined with fine
homes, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. The inn is located
less than 100 yards from the fabulously large studio space where
we will be painting.
The Piedmont is giving us all 10 of their rooms, so register
early to get this great deal. Rooms at the Piedmont will range
from $70 to $120 a day, tax included. Price depends on the room
size and ammenities.
Wi-Fi is available for your laptop!
Lodging includes a hearty country breakfast and a light lunch.
